Kinetic Motion Inc (KMI) is a small business founded by two biomechanics researchers in rehabilitation and musculoskeletal (MSK) injury and treatment to leverage the emerging technological advances in AI-based novel video human motion tracking with low-cost portable devices and wearable sensors into clinical and home products that can enhance and extend function for all ages and impairments. Our technology can detect subtle gait changes and knee instability not immediately apparent to even trained physical therapists. By providing detailed feedback on biomechanics such as knee laxity, joint angles, and limb movement, a comprehensive view of MSK impairment profiles can be generated. Therapists and other health care providers can therefore tailor treatment plans for patients to address specific characteristics of MSK impairments, thereby improving patients’ mobility, health, and quality of life.
We are targeting Medicare Advantage insurance plans related to fall risk and chronic pain. We believe KMI will have a highly disruptive impact on the physical therapy and rehabilitation market, estimated at over $35B in the United States alone.
